High School Credit Recovery (SFUSD)
Received a D or F in a Core Class?
Replace Your Grade by Taking Credit Recovery!
If you received a D or an F in a class, you can make it up by doing a credit recovery class. Also, the good news is that if you apply to a CSU or UC for college, they will only look at the new grade you get.
Credit Recovery
You may need credit credit recovery if one or both of the following apply to you:
You earned a D in an a-g course that is an admissions requirement for a 4-year college eligibility, AND/OR
You earned an F in a graduation requirement.
**Note that students cannot remediate grades of C or higher.
Talk to your counselor to see if you are eligible and to find out the schedule. Spaces are limited so the sooner you sign up, the better chance you have of getting in.
As an example, list of Summer 2025 credit recovery courses is below. Classes that year went from June 12, 2025, to July 18, 2025. June 19th and July 4th were holidays. Summer classes are held daily, Monday to Friday. The morning class is from 9am-11am, and the midday class is from 11:30am-1:30pm.
“In person” means the class meets at the school site on the days and times listed. We recommend this option for the best possibility of success.
“Distance learning” means online on Google Meets.
“Edgenuity/Asynchronous” means the class doesn’t meet at all. Instead, you’ll be reading and/or watching videos so YOU are responsible for pacing yourself to make sure you finish lal the work by the deadline.
